Choose the option that best fits your educational needs

We all know COVID has created a different environment where the need to come up with creative solutions is very real.

We need to develop new, innovative services and products to provide better results and engagement for our clients.

That’s why we are honored and excited to be hosting Guido Van Ryssegem, MS, ATC, CSCS, NBFE, RN for a 2 Day workshop on Blood Flow Restriction training for performance and rehabilitation.

This workshop will be located at Fit Alliance in Tigard Oregon on December 5th & 6th 2020 so that you can get your CEUs for re-certification on time.

But if you can’t make it in person, worry not! We have a virtual option available!

Research shows that Blood Flow Restriction Training methods can induce similar strength gains and hypertrophy while lifting just at 20 to 30% RM.

It can also attenuate muscle atrophy during periods of disuse/injury such as ACL rehabilitation, knee replacement, or hip replacement.

That means your clients might only need to workout a fraction of the time or at a fraction of the intensity to get the same results from other methods.

Benefits For Rehabilitation:

  • Ensures that lower resistance loads, used during rehabilitation, still creates acceptable levels of muscular strength and growth without the cardiovascular risk and high levels of joint stress associated with heavier loaded training

  • Improves functional capacity

  • Improves orthopedic injuries and post-surgeries such as tendinitis, sprains, dislocations and fractures, as also surgical repairs and replacements of joints

  • Promotes hypertrophy of atrophied muscles caused by post-operative immobilization

  • Promotes hypertrophy in pre-operative (orthopedic injury) individuals to improve muscle mass and functional outcome post-operative

  • Decreases back pain

  • Increases rate of bone healing. (eg, patients with osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple myeloma and lymphoma)

  • Increases strength, and hypertrophy while decreasing pain in Osteoarthritis patients

Benefits for Strength and Muscle Building:

  • Increases strength and hypertrophy at loads as light as 20% 1RM

  • Less frequency of training needed for similar results to conventional training

  • Aerobic exercise with Blood flow restriction increases strength and hypertrophy

  • Improves strength, muscle mass, and functional outcomes in Older adults

  • Improves muscular weakness

Benefits for Athletic Performance:

  • improvs muscle strength, power, maximum and repetitive sprinting performance, as well as general fitness, agility and results on the aerobic shuttle test

  • Improves sprinting performance

  • Decreases metabolic stress in endurance athletes

Although research suggests that Blood Flow Restriction Methods are safe for healthy individuals, athletes, and those with varying comorbidities, there are precautions and contraindications that should be taken into consideration prior to using this type of training. For example, individuals with:

  • obesity

  • loose limb tissue,

  • arterial calcification,

  • diabetes,

  • sickle cell anemia

  • hypertension

  • poor circulatory systems (e.g., varicose veins, shiny or scaly skin, brittle or dry nails, and extreme hair loss)

pose a higher risk of side effects from these methods and should seek their physician’s approval before participating in the Blood Flow Restricted Methods exercises.

Because of these precautions, we ask that you bring your physician’s note of approval to this workshop or e-mail it to us before the event (If participating virtually).

We have a form that you can send to your doctor.

If you would like one, just send us a message!

During this workshop, you will:

  • Discover and practice Blood Flow Restriction Methods to augment your training regimen and your rehabilitation protocols.

  • Learn the Updated Science and Practice Hypertrophy vs. Strength Training Protocols.

The in person spaces are limited to the first 12 participants and are sure to sell out.

On the Monday morning after this workshop, you will be equipped with answers to common objections that you might hear from you clients such as:

- I don’t have enough time to fit going to a gym multiple times per week.

- I don’t have time to practice my home exercise program.

- It’s too expensive to come in frequently.

Because in reality, what they really mean is:

-This isn’t my top priority right now.

-My aches and pains aren’t bad enough for me to invest and take action.

-This is not something that I value enough to invest my money.

And we all know that they want:

-increased muscle mass so that they look and feel better in their bodies.

-Increased strength so that they can stay active and improve their level of functioning.

-Be able to move throughout their day pain free.

-Have more energy and ability to keep up with their friends and family.

-Be active and enjoy outdoor activities.

But what you might not know is that they need:

-Education and guidance on how to best reach their goals.

-To invest in multiple sessions with you so that you can focus on delivering results and not worrying about sales.

And that requires YOU to grow.

To build a new skill set.

So that you can offer better, faster results.
